Each year, in June, the villages of the Tibetan valleys challenge each other during bareback horse races. The opportunity for men to show their courage and women to appear in their most beautiful clothes. A friendly moment during which each family receives their friends and guests in their tent around the traditional chai (milk tea).
With the transformation of Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey into a 5-star hotel-restaurant, the Sauternes vineyard finally has a standard bearer that could well bring this exceptional vineyard out of the disaffection it has known for several decades. Of course, there remains the iconic Château Yquem but, if Sauternes has a chance of emerging from the crisis, it is mainly thanks to the will of small producers who are trying to reinvent their offer and open the vineyard to wine lovers.
